Villa Linnanmäki

Villa Linnanmäki

The villa is located in narrow strip of woodland between open fields and a lake. The buildings are sited along a pathway winding between birch trees. The path begins from the edge of the field and runs through the villa, by sauna, continuing to the lakeshore. The black oil finish of the timber buildings continues the dark tone of the pine forest`s edge. The building opens towards the lake and is almost totally enclosed in the direction of the fields. The site has been left in its natural state.

The narrow interior space continues outwards and forms a part of the yard. The foliage of birch trees shades the interior from scorching sunlight in the summer. The heat-storing fireplace and wet areas are organised about the central masonary wall.

Office

Our work includes developing, studying and producing architectural projects that answer the client’s needs in a unique, cost-efficient, rational and aesthetically pleasing synthesis.

The design process consists of analysing the special features of each site and program. Our Architecture grows from hard work and a high level of commitment. We believe that the only way to build sustainable cities and buildings is to use real solid materials, solve all the functions in a flawless way and give every space and building its own unique appearance – a soul.
